Why Real Madrid Players Are Furious With Coach Solari For Playing Gareth Bale Against Barcelona

Real Madrid boss Solari turned to Bale against Barcelona on Saturday, choosing the Wales international over Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez.

However, not for the first time this season, the forward flattered to deceive.

Gareth Bale toiled for Real Madrid against Barcelona, with the 29-year-old making way for Asensio with half an hour left to play – and a fellow card by his name.

And Spanish outlet Marca say Real players were outraged by Solari’s decision to throw Bale into the mix.

The Wales star had spent the last three games stuck on the bench, with Vazquez and Asensio playing in his place instead.

But Solari’s gamble backfired and the locker room supposedly feel Bale has failed to fire since Cristiano Ronaldo’s move away in the summer.

Marca say for now, though, Real are ready to give give Solari and the players time to turn the situation around.

They could yet win the Champions League for a stunning fourth time in a row.

Los Blancos face Ajax at the Bernabeu in the second leg, 2-1 up from the first.

But whether Bale, who was booed by the Bernabeu crowd against Barcelona, can turn his fortunes around remains to be seen.

Express Sport understands the forward could be in line for a stunning return to Tottenham come the end of the season.

Real are ready to use him as bait to land Christian Eriksen, who they have earmarked as their No 1 summer transfer target.
