And the web of contradiction continues in the dams project saga that is slowly changing into a war of actions as irked Kenyans pray for action to save the country that is headed to doom with the surge in corruption

In the twist of statements,Treasury CS Henry Rotich has refuted the deputy president William Ruto’s claim that only seen billion was lost in the Arror and Kimwarer dams construction in Elgeyo Marakwet.

Confirming in an advertisement, Rotich stated that nearly Ksh20 billion was spent as advance payment to begin building the Arror and Kimwarer dams.

The Treasury CS affirmed that up to Ksh19.8 billion had been paid to different firms in the two projects on various dates as at the end of last year.

He further added that the amount paid were fees paid out as part of the agreement before work could begin on the dams.

Speaking when the Judiciary released its annual report on Thursday, Ruto said the figures being reported to have been stolen were misleading.

“You’ have heard that the government has lost about Sh21 billion which is a flat lie! The money in question is about Sh7 billion, and for every coin that has been paid, we have a bank guarantee,” he said.
