PHOTOS: William Ruto, Kalonzo attend burial ceremony of Senator Irungu Kang’ata’s mother

Earlier today, top leaders joined Senator Irungu Kang’ata and his family during the burial ceremony of his mother Margaret Wangechi Irungu.

Some of the leaders who attended the funeral include Deputy President William Ruto, Kalonzo Musyoka among others.

The Deputy President William Ruto eulogized Irungu’s mother as a pragmatic and determined woman.

He also added that She was a devoted wife, mother and an ardent church-goer, who raised God-fearing children.

“Mama Margaret Wangechi Irungu was a hardworking, suave entrepreneur and a go-getter. In the family workshop, she promoted skills development and growth for many young people; mentored and inspired them to take up enterprise as a viable means of earning a living.” said the Deputy president

The Nation reports that Margaret Wangechi Irungu died from diabetes and hypertension.

The mother of seven had been undergoing treatment at Coptic Hospital in Nairobi where she died  on 23rd February.
