Sixty students of St. Brigid
The students were reportedly in class for their evening preps when lightning struck at around 8pm leading to a stampede.
Fifty of the students were treated and discharged while the remaining 10 are still admitted but are in stable condition.

This joins many lightning incidents in school where in last year May, lightning left one student dead an 22 injured in Kakamega county.
Confirming the incident, the school Principal Fransisca Munyasia stated that the students are presently undergoing counseling at the institution.
Ms. Munyasia further called upon the county government, under the emergency kitty, to install lightning arresters to avoid any similar future incidents.
