Lawyer Miguga Miguna hits on Chief Justice Maraga over Uhuru’s Cabinet Reshuffle

Lawyer Miguga Miguna has now hit on Chief Justice Maraga over the recent appointment of Prof George Magoha to head Education docket.

On his official Facebook page on Sunday, Miguna contradicted with Maraga on the need to vet Magoha by a parliamentary committee as per Kenyan constitution

According to contractual lawyer, vetting of nominated cabinet secretaries is demanded by constitution

“As the Chief Justice of Kenya, David Maraga must never subvert, contradict, or make utterances that might encourage the violation of, the Constitution. By arguing that Magoha does not require parliamentary vetting, Maraga is trying to subvert the Constitution,” Miguna noted in a social media post.

The reaction by Miguna came barely a day after Maraga at Egerton University, Njoro Campus said new Education CS is fit for the work and deserve no vetting.

In a church function, Maraga shows his trust for Magoha indicating he doesn’t need any approval by parliament

“Upon appointment of Prof Magoha, the only hurdle remaining before he occupies the coveted seat is vetting by parliament’s education committee. Many Kenyans are of the opinion that Prof Magoha doesn’t need Parliament to be cleared. I also support that,” Mr Maraga was quoted saying.
