William Ruto has been making headlines day in day out. Lately though, the Country’s second in command has gotten in the bad books of a number of Kenyans.
It all started last week after a mega expose on the Mega Dams Scandal was unleashed by the Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti.
According to the DCI, close to 21 billion Shillings meant for the construction of Kimwarer and Arror dams had been lost.
Ruto, like a man who had seemingly been following the entire Dams episode sensationally claimed that only 7 billions had been lost and not 21 billions.
There were calls for the DP to record statements with the DCI since he seemed to have first hand information on the entire scandal.
Many Leaders and Kenyans accused him of interfering with the work of Investigative agencies.
Before dust could settle on the Dam’s scandal, here comes the Car controversy.
Ruto had early in the year donated a brand new car to Kisumu Diocese Archbishop Rev. Philip Anyolo only to see the man of cloth later reject the fact and constantly return it.
This Opposition Chief Raila Odinga attributed to the fact that the Pope had himself intervened to have the car returned since it was allegedly bought from proceeds of Corruption.
Ruto would then hit back at Raila for being against his empowerment of Churches since he was a magician who believed in Evil Spirits.
Ruto referred to Raila as a master of deciet out to sprew desperate lies.
Raila’s allies would then take a swipe at Ruto with many reminding him of the many corruption scandals he has been implicated in.
Head of Nasa secretariat Norman Magaya backed Raila applauding the church for rejecting Ruto’s car gift.
He said Ruto should be put to task over his source of wealth saying he has a track record of corruption allegations.
“He must know that the real magician is one who procures towels, tiles, bread etc in a contract for construction of dams. A real magician is one who grabs a school play field, grabs Kenya Civil Aviation land and the Internally Displaced People (as a result of 2007/2008 post-election violence),” he said.
