Aisha Jumwa receives a major back up in her rebellion quest

Nominated Senator Milicent Omanga on Saturday attacked the ODM party after its National Governing Council (NGC) officially expelled Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa from the Raila Odinga-led political party.

Omanga, in a statement, slammed the party saying Aisha Jumwa was unfairly targeted especially after her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori was spared despite facing similar accusations.

Below is the Jubilee senator’s statement:

“There’s no doubt Malindi MP Hon Aisha Jumwa is one of the fast-rising women leaders in this country. She is strong-willed, has a rare gift of the garb and is amazingly talented.

Her expulsion from ODM is thus unfortunate and punctures the credibility of ODM as a party that parades itself as a foremost promoter of democracy and women leadership.

We must call ODM’s bluff for unfairly targeting Aisha and going a step further to expel her on very flimsy grounds.

It’s unbelievable that even though another ODM MP, Suleiman Dori, faced similar accusations, he was spared the axe. Isn’t this witch-hunt and unfair treatment of women? It’s abhorrent and unacceptable.

I encourage my sister Aisha to fight it all away and shame her detractors.

As for ODM and its owners, stop this hypocrisy! It stinks.”
