Kipchumba Murkomen has come out to say that plans to see Ruto clinch the top most position in the land in 2022 are at risk from powerful sources.

Although the issue of corruption has dented the Jubilee government’s image, there have been renewed efforts to deal with the vice in President Kenyatta’s second term.

The President promised to ensure that those found culpable, no matter their rank and position in the country, will be prosecuted.

“If you are found to have stolen from Kenyans, be rest assured that you will be jailed…and your community will not defend you,” Uhuru was quoted in a previous event.

Major leadership changes that were made in the Directorate of Criminal Investigations and the Department of Public Prosecutions have resulted in arrests and prosecution of hundreds of graft suspects in both levels of government, county and national.

However Kipchumba believes there exists a coalition of cartels that is working to paint DP Ruto and the Kalenjin community as corrupt to advance selfish political agendas.

“I feel that all the campaign that have been going around on social media and the media that Kalenjins are corrupt is being engineered by cartels to scuttle DP Ruto’s 2022 bid,”Murkomen said in part.

His statement came just a day after news of a fresh scandal in which KSh. 21 billion meant for the construction of Arror and Kimwarer Dams In Elgeyo Marakwet County disappeared.

Murkomen argued that Mr Kinoti does not have any information on how the construction of the two dams was being handled, and therefore, his input was misplaced.

Is it true Ruto is being targeted unfairly?
