Governor Joho tightens efforts to counter violent extremism in Mombasa County

Mombasa County Government under the administration of Governor Joho has tightened the efforts to counter violent extremism in Mombasa County.

Earlier today, top county officials led on by the Mombasa County Deputy Governor William Kingi attended the 2019 Annual CVE Convention on enhancing partnership in countering violent extremism at Pride Inn Mombasa.

The Deputy Governor condemned violent extremism saying that it threatens the very fabric of society & must be confronted.

Kingi noted that the Mombasa County Government realizes the importance of inclusive growth that aims at making sure no one and no section of their society is left behind.

He reiterated that the county is specifically sensitive to the unique needs of the youth.

Mombasa County also appreciated the good efforts of agencies that have partnered with government to support this course.

The Deputy Governor stated that is only through partnerships with all actors that they can defeat the threat of extremism because all approaches must be deployed to win.
