Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper have had everyone talking this week. Rumors of their affair have gone wild! The co-stars gave a steamy performance of Shallow at the Oscars on Sunday.

After their months-long publicity campaign, which was filled with mushy joint interviews, the very intense rendition of the song at the Academy Awards was enough for some fans to believe the relationship may have spilled over into real life.

Lady Gaga has finally adressed the speculation – insisting that an intimate performance was just what they were going for.

The Oscar winner appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night, where she completely terminated any rumour about a romance with her former co-star.

She said:

“Yes, people saw love and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see. [Shallow] is a love song, A Star Is Born is a love story.

“We worked so hard, we worked all week on that performance.

“From a performance performance, it was so important to both of us that we were connected the entire time.

“Look, I’ve had my arms wrapped around Tony Bennett for three years touring the world. When you’re singing love songs, that’s what you want people to feel.

“I’m an artist, and I guess we did a good job – fooled ya!”

Gaga went on to praise the hard work that Cooper put into the performance.

She explained that while she normally has a hard time giving up control during live performances, she knew the actor had a particular vision about how the duet should be sung at the Academy Awards.

She continued:

“He directed this film and he directed, obviously, the musical moments in the film, and ‘Shallow,’ the moment, in the film.

“So I knew that he had the vision for how it should go, and so I was like, ‘What do you think Bradley?’ And he laid it all out. “

She went on to talk about how she had been “so excited” for the Hollywood community to see Cooper sing live.

She continued:

“Bradley is a musician. My favourite thing about the whole experience — I was so excited for everyone to see him sing live.

“In that moment when we started and he said ‘Tell me something, girl,’ the audience started cheering and I was like, ‘Yes Bradley! Keep going!’”
