The Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi has halted with immediate effect the Parliamentary Public Investment Committee(PIC) from investigating the proposal by Kenya Airways to take over the management of Jomo Kenyatta International airport.
The parliamentary committee had accused the PIC of overstepping their mandate after they tabled a report on the takeover which would have Kenyans losing money. Muturi said in his response to a letter by the Transport committee that the takeover was a policy issue and therefore was mandated to the transport committee.
Earlier this week the Parliamentary committee kicked out the Transport PS Esther Koimett who had appeared before them without the proposal document. They also summoned the Transport CS to appear before them to detail the particulars of the said proposal
