Sad! Why February has been a mourning month for the media industry

February 2019 has not been a happy month for the media industry having lost various solders. Kenya has just lost a screen prince, Kone Nouhoum who has succumbed to spinal injuries following a grisly accident at Naivasha. He had been in ICU for more than four months. Kone was an actor at Selina show which airs at Maisha Magic TV, where he acted as Reagan.

His death comes shortly after another Kenya legend died, rapper Chris Kantai. Kantai is said to have been unwell for sometime and bought over the counter drugs without knowing that they were contaminated. After taking, he started feeling burning sensation in his body, shaking and sweating. He became very weak. He later developed breathing problems and died while being teated.

Godzilla, Tanzanian rapper famoyusly known as Jacob Mbunda also died in February. He passed away in their home at Dar es Salaam. His sister said that he had earlier complained of stomach pains, diabetes and high blood pressure.

After Godzilla’s death, Tanzania was hit with yet another demise of a media guru, Ruge Mutahaba. He was the director of strategy and development at Clouds Media Group. He had been admitted at South African hospital where he died battling kidney failure.
