A Standard Six pupil at Mikuyuni Primary School in Kibwezi died on Thursday after he was allegedly kicked by a teacher.
The 14-year-old breathed his last on arrival at Kibwezi Amref Sub-county Hospital where he had been taken for treatment.Kibwezi Police Commander Ben Chagulo said the police are investigating the puzzling death to establish the cause.
“It’s true the pupil has passed on at the facility but we will let the investigating team to tell us what caused his death,” he said.
He said whoever was alleging the boy was kicked should come out and report it.”We don’t want to go by speculations, otherwise, let’s wait for the results of the investigating team and perhaps the postmortem,” the police boss said.
There was tension as shocked parents and administrators flocked to the hospital to find out what had happened.The body has been moved to Makindu Sub-county Hospital mortuary.
