Tomorrow, Friday 1st March, a cancer patient at Nairobi West hospital will be the initial person to be treated with a new machine that cuts time by twenty

The Varian Halcyon Radiotherapy machine has been introduced at the Nairobi West Hospital.

It was first created in 2017. Kenya turns into the third African nation after South Africa and Morocco and the 6th on the planet to have the machine.

Clinical and radiation oncologist Solomon Mutua said it will guarantee much preferable results for disease patients over the old treatment.

It includes only nine stages, rather than the at least 30 that are at present required on standard radiation treatment stages.

Nairobi West’s declaration comes after The Aga Khan University Hospital contributed more than Sh600 million to purchase the main PET-CT examine machine in Kenya for the treatment of cancer, heart infirmities and different sicknesses.
