“If we do not act, the people will act,” Uhuru’s worry on fight against graft

For the first time President Uhuru Kenyatta has come out to speak out his worry for the fight against corruption.

In many occasions President Uhuru Kenyatta has always been sending warnings to the agencies entitled to spearhead this fight.

Speaking during the official launch of the state of the Judiciary, President Uhuru Kenyatta said that the leaders should take high the fight against the corruption before the citizens swing into action.

” If we do not act, the people will act. I do not think that is where we want to go .”

But he also expressed his confidence on the capabilities of the Judiciary to stamp its authority and soar to greater heights:

“I am confident that the judiciary has capacity to soar to greater heights and be a global leader. The executive is ready to support the judiciary on the journey of positive transformation.”

However the President urged the Judiciary to give government cases involving policies and laws be given first priority;

” Let cases on government policies and laws be determined on a priority basis, with defined timelines and perhaps daily and weekend sittings until determination .”
