The Chief Justice, David Maraga, has responded to allegations made by Ahmednasir Abdullahi that he tabled against the supreme court judges.

Speaking during the State of Judiciary, the CJ asked Ahmednasir and others with information on graft at the Supreme Court to file petitions or table evidence at the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

“I challenge him to file a petition and assure him that the JSC will take stern and appropriate action against those judges if given the evidence of alleged corruption,” CJ Maraga declared.

The CJ was responding to graft claims made against Supreme Court judge Mohamed Ibrahim by the vocal lawyer, in relation to the Wajir gubernatorial petition.

Ahmednasir was representing former Governor, Ahmed Abdullahi, who challenged the election of Governor Mohamed Abdi, a case which he lost.

This led to a trail of tweets in which the lawyer implied that the bench was influenced by parties with vested interests in the case.
