The patience of Chelsea fans has been wearing thin for some time now and they have been quick to exhibit their dissatisfaction on Twitter whenever the opportunity arises. Even when they win they’re not entirely happy it seems.

That ‘opportunity’ normally arrives whenever their team is in action and it was the case again on Wednesday night as they edged to a 2-0 to victory in their Premier League clash with Tottenham, although one man in particular came in for some fierce criticism.

Jorginho has been the target of critics since arriving from Napoli for a cool £50m last summer and he has been a mainstay of Maurizio Sarri’s team despite failing to impress on a his debut season in England.

The midfielder has often been criticised for failing to deliver a final product, with his persistent sideways passing forcing Chelsea fans to despair.

Twitter was in top form on Wednesday night, despite the win for the Blues…

The Chelsea fans on here are having a mental breakdown over Jorginho [@Richie5Tunde]

Some were quick to suggest that Jorginho perhaps has incriminating evidence on Sarri, although very much tongue in cheek it must be said…

Jorginho must have compromising photos of Sarri and his dog, or something [@DazColledge]

And others were quick to call time on the player’s Chelsea career following another ineffectual display…

Jorginho is the worst midfielder to play for ChelseaFC. What a waste of a player. [@deepwaty]

Plenty were calling for Sarri to take Jorginho out of the line of fire…

Jorginho as normal continues to be the weak cog in the team. SARRI, please listen to the fans… take him off and bench him for future matches [@dazzerg1]

It is becoming increasingly clear that Jorginho is being used as a scapegoat for the relative displeasure of supporters with their manager’s fabled ‘Sarriball’

Will Jorginho still be a football player if he can’t play Sarriball?  [@ngwanetdn]

And patience is wearing out…

No manager will retain Jorginho, he’s not meant for us. Dude offers next to nothing for us. [@Benco14]

Perhaps some are expecting too much of a player who has a very defined role in the team and it is worth noting that Jorginho does have his supporters on a night when Chelsea all but ended Tottenham’s title hopes, while also boosting their own top-four chances…
