VIDEO: Inside ‘fake Uhuru’s’ multi-billion boxes of fake currency nabbed in Ruiru

The fake President Uhuru Kenyatta were on Wednesday released on bond, but could that let them go? Shortly after their release, boxes of fake currencies were recovered from a residential Property in Ruiru, Nairobi following a police crackdown.

The police revealed that the currencies, which included both local and foreign, was linked to one of the suspect’s being held for impersonating President  Kenyatta.

At the time of this writing, the total value of the fake currency had not been assessed.

Witnesses at the scene of the ransack revealed that they knew the house but did not suspect criminal activities of such magnitude took place there.

In the ransack, people dressed in civilian clothes were seen opening metalic boxes to reveal wads of fake money and the boxes were arranged in stacks.

The currency was allegedly being manufactured by use of poisonous chemicals that had been stored in one of the boxes.

The currency, estimated to be in billions, had been traded out to unsuspecting Kenyans in Shillings, Dollars, Japanese Yen and other denominations.

According to reports, the house allegedly belonged to a Mr Munyau but no definite identity was given.

The seven suspects, who were released on Wednesday on Kshs 200,000 cash bail, used uhuru’s name and voice to con Kshs10 million from a trader.

The suspects included Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wajekeche, William Simiyu, David Luganya, Anthony Wafula, Gilbert Kirunja and Joseph Waswa alias Henry Waswa.
