Man suspected to be Joseph Waswa’s accomplice arrested with fake gold and money

A couple has been arrested in Ruiru with fake gold and and Sh32.6 billion in Kenyan and foreign currency.

According to police, it is believed that the money was being used by the suspects in a con scheme involving calling people and telling them they have won money, and thus pay some amount to receive the ‘prize.’

Joseph Munyao and Nancy Muthoni were arrested in Kwihota, Ruiru.

Munyao who lives with his wife and three kids was arrested by DCI officers as he was going to work.

He was trailed by detectives after receiving information from the public about fake money.

The man who apparently lives in a house owned by suspect Joseph Waswa said he worked at Secure Africa – a company that deals with logistics.

The detectives further found a licenced gun in his house.
