How Kisumu woman attempted to protect her neighbour from the killer husband

Evaline Akoth, the neighbour to Adhiambo Odongo had tried to stop him from killing his wife, details emerge.

Odongo was sentenced today for killing his wife in 2015 over Sh8,000.

The state prosecutor Valerie Ongeti told the court that Odongo did the offencese at Kotieno town in Kasipul Constituency on June 7, 2015.

Odongo had been accused of slaughtering the spouse in the wake of differing over the cash. He blamed the wife for taking the money.

The court heard that after the difference, Odongo left home for a liquor nook.

He later returned home with two men with whom he struck Eunice and murdered her at the scene.

One of the observers Evaline Akoth affirmed that Odongo and his gathering likewise ambushed her when she endeavored to shield Eunice.

“The next day, I was educated that Eunice had passed on,” Akoth said.

Ongeti advised the court that Odongo misled the police that his significant other had been executed by obscure lawbreakers.

“A report from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations demonstrates that Odongo misled police yet they had executed his better half in the room,” Ongeti said.

The case was later changed from homicide to murder after the court set up that Odongo did not plan to slaughter his significant other. Four observers affirmed for the situation.

Odongo denied the charge under the steady gaze of High Court judge Joseph Karanja in Homa Bay. The judge said the proof showed by the observers was sufficient to demonstrate that he submitted the offense.

“You have been condemned as needs be nevertheless you have 14 days to offer,” Karanja said.

Odongo argued for tolerance on grounds that he wedded another spouse after Eunice’s demise and the lady left him with youngsters after they oppose this idea.

“I argue for tolerance since I am the person who is dealing with my kids in light of the fact that their mom vanished after we deviated,” Odongo said
