Corruption pushes NHIF to stop certifying hospitals

Sicily Kariuki, James Wambugu

The National Hospital Insurance Fund will never again certify healthcare facilities, under new changes went for conveying Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2022.

In the changes, the Ministry of Health service and the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board will be the certifying organizations.

NHIF will move far from issues that are fringe to it. The Ministry of Health and the board will complete the work,

Health Cabinet Secretary Sicily Kariuki said.

She said after accreditation, clinics will be gazetted and the protection supplier will lift it up from that point.

UHC is relied upon to proclaim the change of the nation’s wellbeing area, which has been set apart by imbalances as a result of destitution and low take-up of medicinal protection
