Former NTV news anchor, Larry Madowo always get trolled by his fans for being single for too long. Many are times he is questioned why he never dates at all. Finally, Larry has found love in Sophia the robot.
Larry was the host of Global Mobile Awards in Barcelona that recognize and celebrate all contributions made to the evolving and developing mobile industry, where Sophia presented an award with him.
Larry asked Sophia, ”So can you date me?” She replied, ”Is that a proposal?” Larry pushed on, ”I’m just asking. Will you marry me?” Sophia mulled over the proposal and said, ”Oh my. This is a big move with lots of people here. I’m nervous.” Not giving up, Larry asked, ”Are you in a relationship?” She responded, ”People love to ask me that, I seem to be pretty popular.”
Sophia is a social humanoid robot, modeled after actress Audrey Hepburn. She was activated on February 14, 2016 and made her first public appearance at South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) in mid-March 2016 in Austin, Texas, United States. She is able to display more than 50 facial expressions.
Sophia uses artificial intelligence, visual data processing and facial recognition. Sophia also imitates human gestures and facial expressions and is able to answer certain questions and to make simple conversations on predefined topics like thee weather.
The AI program analyses conversations and extracts data that allows her to improve responses in the future. Hanson designed Sophia to be a suitable companion for the elderly at nursing homes, or to help crowds at large events or parks. He has said that he hopes that the robot can ultimately interact with other humans sufficiently to gain social skills.
