The Kenya National Union of Nurses Secretary General Seth Panyako has succumbed to pressure and called off the countrywide nurses’ strike.
He was in court to show cause why he should not be held in contempt for disobeying orders stopping the strike.
Panyako told Justice Nelson Abuodha that the strike was called off and further defended himself alleging that he was never served with the court papers.
The judge cautioned him not to disobey court orders in future.
The court has discharged all KNUN officials from the contempt since the strike has been called off
However, addressing the court moments after, Panyako told the media that he was not the one in particular who called off the strike.M
