As it turns out, the mother of five, with all her drama, is the most sought after character on Instagram, beating the likes of Vera Sidika and Eric Omondi. The survey conducted by US firm Medium identified various Kenyan personalities and their popularity across the three popular social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
On Instagram, it was a tight contest which Akothee came in first, beating the likes of comedian Njugush, socialite Vera and TV girl Betty Kyallo.
There is much more to social media than just having a huge following and Akothee emerged as the most sought after personality on Instagram because her posts have the most engagement.
In other words, Akothee’s posts on Instagram enjoy the most interaction of all celebrities in Kenya because everyone always seems to have an opinion of the self-proclaimed President of single mothers.
On Facebook, it is Nairobi governor Mike Sonko who has the most engaging page closely followed by comedian Churchill and President Uhuru Kenyatta. Twitter, which is considered the social media platform of the more sophisticated lot, is led by President Uhuru Kenyatta in terms of social media interaction, with controversial blogger Robert Alai and Deputy President William Ruto emerging second and third respectively.
