On Monday morning, Malindi OCPD Matawa Muchangi wasreported dead while at a private hospital in Mombasa.
It was not immediately clear what caused his death.
According to the area DCIO Anthony Sunguti, the OCPD fell ill on Sunday evening at his home before he was rushed to the hospital where he passed on hours later.
The office of the Director of Criminal Investigations said a postmortem would be conducted to establish what led to the OCPD’s death.
