My sisters, future daughters. You see governor Ann Waiguru is now getting back to marriage at 52. And yet no-one is saying that this is kinda too late. They have closed their eyes and chosen to celebrate her. Waiguru would have yet chosen to get married at 60, and still they would have said nothing.
That is what happens when you live your own life and let others choose for themselves. Did l not tell you that it is ok to graduate from form four at 28, get married at 44 and raise one child. Life is not a competition.
This society is forever evil, and it’s Men out there will not agree with this ,,, because they want to belittle you. They want to make you feel desperate at 29.
Out of the many lessons you should learn in this small space, and Ann Waiguru being one of them, You should learn to do what is right and give little attention to what people say. Do not break your neck trying to fit into the expectations of this world.
This society is biased. This society will tell you that a man can get married at any age but a woman, below 29. This society will tell you that a man can marry as many wives as he wants but a woman only one.
This is what l tell my sisters at home. There is nothing posh at getting married at 18 or 21 . Nobody is chasing you. You don’t need to get married because all your friends are married.
If you have a few aspirations here and there. A few goals to achieve, you go for it, some of these men will not support your dreams when you get married. They will be too insecure to let you run for that Miss World competition 2019 or the Kirinyaga gubenatorial race!
