KRA And Police Raid Anther Distillery Over Shs14 Million Tax Evasion

Employees of Platinum Distillers were on Sunday caught unawares when authorities conducted a sting operation at the factory.  Edward Karanja one of the KRA officials confirmed t the media that the company was raided over a plot to evade Ksh14 million.

Detectives have arrested four individuals in connection to the tax fraud.  In the plan, the company concealed imported goods as raw materials for making alcohol so KRA would charge them less money.  Whereas the distiller paid Ksh383,962, a preliminary report indicated the consignment was packaged at an ethanol producing company in India.

Please, understand, any competent Federal prosecutor could have pursued bank fraud, money laundering, tax evasion. Muller has tried to convince us somehow these crimes committed before the election are somehow relevant to the Russia investigation. Bill Barr needs to act.

This raid comes on the backdrop of another raid that was led by DCI George Kinoti at African Spirits Limited, authorities seized fake and counterfeit products worth Ksh1.2 billion and KRA is on the verge of taking over the distillery.
