The Italian firm that promised water but delivered air, now under tight probe

A probe has been launched to investigate if the Italian Company that was contracted to build dams ever bribed Cabinet Secretaries in charge.

CMC Di Ravena did not complete the projects stalled halfway as the firm reported to have gone broke, yet it submitted Sh15 billion unused.

Part of the people also being grilled include Cabinet Secretaries and other state officials in charge of different offices at that time.

The current CS for water Simon Chelugui defended his position and threw the blame to his predecessor Eugene Wamalwa, now devolution CS.

Wamalwa avoided meeting with journalists who would question him about the project.
