Family of slain pregnant Nairobi woman Beryl Adhiambo have expressed fear the government chief pathologist may tamper with autopsy result. Beryl’s father Douglas Ouma on Friday, February 23, claimed murder suspect Laiko Osuri who is the husband of the deceased is related to Johansen Oduor, the pathologist.

Ouma said the circumstance surrounding his daughter’s death remain suspicious which he alleged Osuri’s parents had apparently attempted to sweep under the carpet.

“We told the pathologist (Oduor) since he is related to Beryl’s husband he must not conduct the autopsy and he agreed. He knows we are aware they are cousins,” he told journalists.

On the fateful morning of Thursday, February 21, the victim’s father received phone call from the suspect’s parents informing him his daughter was unwell and was rushed Neema Uhai Hospital.

This was after he received three call back messages Beryl while he was asleep but phone went unanswered when he called.

Minutes later, the husband phoned him to say they had had a small quarrel with Beryl, though he did not disclose that his wife was no more.

“My daughter sent me Please Call Me because I was asleep. I heard the first one and had to call back. Few minutes, her husband called and asked me whether I was asleep or not. He then told me they had fought. When I prodded him further, he refused to tell me what transpired,” he said.
