N’Golo Kante JUMPS To The Defence Of Under Pressure Jorginho

Summer signing Jorginho was booed as he came off the bench in Thursday night’s 3-0 Europa League win over Malmo and is closely associated among fans with unpopular boss Maurizio Sarri.

But Kante, who has been pushed into a more attacking role to accommodate the Italy international, does not want his old job as Chelsea’s holding midfielder back.

He said: “It’s fine, it’s fine. I like this position. I’m with the manager and I’m enjoying the way I’m playing now.

“Jorginho came this season. He is doing very well. He knows very well the philosophy of the manager. He is very important for us at the club.

“He is very important for us at the club” N’Golo Kante.

“I’m enjoying participating more in the offensive positions to change the game.”

Asked about the boos for his team-mate, Kante added: “We can understand their disappointment in our performances in some moments of the season.

“I think we all want to get tighter and we will all be together for the final and the rest of the season. As a team we have some difficulty at the moment but we are all together.”

Chelsea were thrashed 6-0 in their last meeting with Manchester City, a result that still burns deep inside Kante and his team-mates.
