Man Utd Boss Ole Gunnar Makes Sanchez, Martial And Lingard Plan For Liverpool Showdown

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has tried to motivated Sanchez, who has struggled for form ever since his move to Old Trafford from Arsenal in January last year.

The 45-year-old recently urged the forward to rediscover his mojo, saying: “I can’t do anything about Alexis Sanchez.

“When he plays, he needs to find himself, because we know there is a quality player there.”

There is a feeling, however, that Alexis Sanchez’s Manchester United career is unlikely to ever take off.

He has scored just twice this season – against Newcastle and Arsenal respectively.

But his dreadful form saw him dropped for Monday’s FA Cup showdown with Chelsea, despite Martial and Lingard being sidelined through injury.

And The Sun say Solskjaer does not trust his No 7 to spearhead their attack against Liverpool on Sunday.

It is said Sanchez will be left out for tomorrow’s mouthwatering showdown at Old Trafford.

And Solskjaer is ready to rush back Martial and Lingard to compensate for Sanchez’s lack of attacking threat.

Speaking yesterday, the Norwegian hinted that both players could play some part in the blockbuster Liverpool clash.

“Jesse is looking OK and I hope with Anthony. They have to get through these two sessions,” he said.

“Every single player has the attributes to give us something and the way we played against Chelsea shows we can cope without them.

“We have got options, it’s a big squad, everyone is eager. They want to play in this game.

“Some haven’t played so much, so it’s a chance to step forward. If they don’t make it, it might be the same team as against Chelsea. Who knows.”

United lost 3-1 to Liverpool when the two teams met in December, with Xherdan Shaqiri at the double and Sadio Mane also on target.

However, they beat the Reds 2-1 at Old Trafford last year with Marcus Rashford scoring a sublime brace.
