Fare thee well: Senator’s Mother succumbs to Diabetes

Speaking to a local paper, Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata confirmed to
having lost his mother on Saturday, 23. His mother succumbed to diabetes and hypertension.

The mother of seven had been undergoing treatment at Coptic Hospital in Nairobi where she died on Saturday morning.

Murang’a leaders including Kiharu’s Ndindi Nyoro nominated MP Maina Kamanda sent condolence messages to the senator.

“We have lost an exemplary mother who was selfless. Her humility was exhibited by the way she lived. Kiharu is mourning,” Nyoro said.

Kigumo MP Ruth Mwaniki termed the death of the senator’s mother a blow to the county.

“I was with the senator on Friday when I wished her mother quick recovery not knowing she would leave us today,” she lamented.
Mwaniki added that she went through the same journey last year.

“ The senator’s case is extreme because his two parents have been at the hospital. May she rest in eternal peace,” she stated.
Kang’ ata is the Senate Deputy Chief Whip.

Elsewhere, Tharaka Nithi Governor Onesmus Muthomi Njuki, on February 12 also lost his mother. The body of the deceased is yet to be transferred to the mortuary.
