Movie star and comedian Brody Stevens has been found dead in Los Angeles.
Died at 48-years, the Hangover star committed suicide on Friday, with The Blastreporting that Los Angeles police are investigating the cause of death as being ‘suicide by hanging’.
Brody was found just before 1pm PST and it is has been reported by US media that LAPD are still at the scene and investigators are speaking with his family.
A statement from Brody’s reps said: “Brody was an inspiring voice who was a friend to many in the comedy community.
“He pushed creative boundaries and his passion for his work and his love of baseball were contagious.
“He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed. We respectfully ask for privacy at this time.”
He had opened up previously about suffering from depression and mental health issues, and he and Zach Galifianakis produced a Comedy Central show about his battle with biopolar disorder.
Brody Stevens: Enjoy It! first aired on HBO in 2012 before it was picked up by Comedy Central the following year.
He was arrested and hsopitalized in 2011 after tweeting that he’d put a gun to his mouth and stopped taking his anti-anxiety medication.
