17year Form 3 Student succumbs to A botched abortion in Narok county

A pregnant Form 3 student whose lifeless body was discovered at a lodging in Narok county has caused questions The deceased was a student at Kisiara Secondary School, checked herself into the facility the previous day

The death of the 17-year-old girl was confirmed by area chief Titus Tonui who revealed that she might have died as a result of an abortion gone wrong. The girl’s boyfriend, who lives in the same area where the lodging is located, reportedly disappeared after the incident.

Her body was taken to Kamkatet Hospital mortuary where an autopsy will be conducted to ascertain the cause of her death. This incident comes barely a fortnight after the body of Caroline Mwatha, a human rights activist, was discovered at City Mortuary. 

An autopsy conducted at Umash Funeral Home revealed that she died of excessive bleeding from her ruptured uterus after a botched abortion. Independent pathologist, Dr Peter Ndegwa, explained that the human rights defender was “about 5 to 6 months pregnant with a male foetus.”
