Westlife star Markus Feehily has revealed he is engaged to his boyfriend of six years.
The My Love singer, who is currently planning a comeback tour with the rest of the group, announced the happy news on Friday morning via social media.
While he chose not to reveal the identity of his beau, the singer told fans the happy news while on a romantic holiday in The Maldives.
Sharing an image of his hand with a silver wedding band on, alongside two glasses of Prosecco, he wrote: “2019 has been so amazing to me so far and it’s only getting started!”
He added: “I wanted to be the first to say it…#Engaged “.
Alongside the first picture, Mark also shared a clip of his picturesque beachy surroundings and a sweet shot of himself and his husband-to-be taken from behind, as they happily strolled along the shore.
“Wow that’s so amazing!!! Congratulations @markcusmoments load of love to come,” one fan wrote after learning his engagement news.
Meanwhile, another added: “You deserve the world. Congratulations to you both”.
Clearly thrilled for the Westlife favourite, a third of Mark’s followers gushed: “Congratulations to you both. I could not be happier for you both than I am right now!!! What an amazing place to get engaged. I wish you all the love and happiness in the world! Xxx”.
Mark has opted to stay private about his relationship over the last six years, only speaking about his partner on very rare occasions.
In 2017, he explained why he chose to keep his romance under wraps. Speaking to Mail Online, he said: “He is not quiet believe me, he is far from quiet, but he has no experience whatsoever in the music industry and he is quite shy about coming to the red carpet.
“A lot of people ask me his name and it is not that I don’t say his name, it is his thing to say and if he wants to be in a magazine then that’s his choice.”
While Mark and his partner, who is also Irish, are famously tight lipped about their relationship, the singer has previously admitted that they are both “broody” and ready to start a family.
