Narok nurses thrown out by the governor

Striking nurses in Narok County were Friday (22nd Feb) ordered to vacate government issued houses.

Governor Samuel Tunai promised that he was not going to bow down to blackmail by the striking health care providers.

Speaking to members of the fourth estate at the Narok County Referral Hospital, he vowed to replace the nurses.

He was receiving medications worth Sh38 million from Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS).

“As governors, our center obligation is to convey improvement and the way things are, the provinces burn through 87 per cent of the financial plan on intermittent consumption (remuneration). As governors we have concurred that we will not add the nurses even a coin,” said Governor Tunai

Tunai said that nurses get highest pays than other workers of their class.
