MP threatens to resign over insecurity issues

Bongoma Senator Moses Wetangula’s party is just about to lose one of their legilator who have gone ahead and threatened to resign from parliament over the increasing cases of insecurity at his jurisdiction.

West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi, said the cases have escalated in the recent past with police doing little to prosecute those responsible.

While writing to the Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, Kemosi said, “My constituents are butchered daily but nothing concrete has been done. We have reported these matters yet nobody is interested. I am ready to resign any time if this can’t be handled.

In addition he said, “But before I go, the Interior Minister must transfer these lazy police officers around. They have been allowing criminals to terrorize my people.”

The member of parliament has sited that three people have died under unclear circumstances in just the month of February but the police have failed to take action despite locals giving clues.
