Government Gains Ground on Nurses Strike: Kisumu nurses Poised to Get Back to Work

The government has gained ground on the nurses strike after sealing a deal with the Kisumu County nurses.

This follows a return to work agreement signed between the county government of Kisumu and the union officials.

According to the union’s branch Secretary, Ms Anne Owiti, the nurses have agreed to come back to work so that they can provide the reconciliation committee enough time to steer the way forward.

Owiti has informed the nurses that none of them will be victimized.

Additionally, the Kenya National Union of Nurses Secretary General Seth Panyako has pressed the government to meet the various demands of the nurses, while promising to push on with the strike that the nurses started three weeks ago if not met.
