The Somali Community living lives with camels, which have been found to be carriers of the deadly Zika virus.

Zika attack leads to head deformation in a condition called Microcephaly.

The disease is quickly spread to human from animals such as camels by vectors like mosquito.

In Kenya, the Somali community is deeply attached to camels, owing to their adaptability in desert conditions which the community live in.

According to a medical researcher Dr.Kariuki, porous borders with neighboring countries such as Uganda where the virus has been reported is also a threat.

Kenyan communities that keep animals bear highest susceptibility to zoonotic diseases (infect both animals and human).
