A Cat (Pet) belonging to Renowned World Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld who died on Tuesday is set to inherit a whooping Sh19.6 Billion.

Lagerfeld’s Cat Chaupette will be inheriting the huge amount of money after being listed as the next of kin by her owner, alongside his model godson.

According to French newspaper Le Figaro, Choupette might be entitled to Lagerfeld’s multi-million pound fortune under German law, making her the world richest cat.

In a 2018, Lagerfeld affirmed that indeed the cat was among those listed to benefit from his fortunes once he died.

“Among others, yes, don’t worry, there is enough for everyone,” implying that others close to him may also receive an inheritance.

Lagerfeld died aged 85 in hospital in Paris on Tuesday. His death was confirmed by Chanel, where he had been a creative director for over 30 years.

The Famous Cat (Choupette), adopted by Lagerfeld back in 2011, used to live a luxurious life style with over 231K followers on her Instagram account. Her social media pages are in the hands of digital marketing expert Ashley Tschudin.

Before Lagerfeld’s death the cat had accumulate more than £2.5million by herself.

Last April, Lagerfeld told Numéro magazine: “There will be no funeral. I’d rather die! I’ve asked to be cremated and want my ashes to be scattered along with my mother’s”
