Human rights commission executive Kerogo says activist Mwatha was killed

In an event organized by Dandora Community Justice Centre at freedom corner in Uhuru Park Nairobi,deceased activist Caroline Mwatha was on Thursday afternoon commemorated

It was attended by, among others, former Member of Parliament Martha Karua, Nairobi Women Representative Esther Passaris, former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, Rev. Timothy Njoya as well as activists Boniface Mwangi and Okiya Omtata.

Mwatha’s father Stanislaus Mbai’s denied she died of excessive bleeding.

“I will never understand how I did not notice her pregnancy because in noticed nothing from the photo last shared by her friends during the week of her disappearance,” Mbai said.

He asked Kenyans to pray for the family. Mwatha’s husband Joshua Ochieng’ was too weak to speak as was his mother-in-law.

Kenya Human Rights Commission executive director George Kegoro also said “Mwatha was killed.” “Even as the investigations are going on, we know for a fact that Caroline did not kill herself, she was killed by somebody who was offended by her work,” he said.
