Do You Know Majala Mlagui?Yes, She’s Kenya’s Youngest Deputy Governor!

During the August 2017 election, Majala Mlagui wrote her name in Kenya’s history books as she became the youngest person to clinch the position of deputy governor.

The vibrant gemstone-obsessed leader was named as the deputy to Governor Granton Samboja at the tender age of 26.

Her education history speaks for itself. She is a former student of the
2014 Emerging Leaders in Africa Mining program run by the Minerals and Energy for Development Alliance (MEfDA, Australia)

Mlagui, who is a geologist by profession, is adept at transforming gemstones into luxury jewellery, with an emphasis on making sure that the raw gemstones are ethically sourced

The deputy governor is the proud owner of a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Sheffield England, Software Engineering.
