NTSA in Fresh Motor Vehicle Registration Scandals.

The National Transport and Safety Authority is indicated in double registration scandal that rocked the Authority last month linking to the Dusit Attacks that left 21 people dead. It was alleged the vehicle that was used in the Dusit attack had the similar number plates with another vehicle in Kitengera.

Such developments saw the NTSA headquarter in Upper hill cordoned off and senior official bundled and whisked away, officials were implicated to be dealing in fishy deals.

Similarly, today Kenya Revenue revealed another vehicle in similar number plate scan today in Mombasa. According to the Revenue body, hundreds of imported cars have been released without the mandatory National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) registration.

Vehicles imported into the country should automatically be allocated number plates and their details captured by NTSA before they leave the port.

It’s noted that the possession and use of unregistered motor vehicles has recently been cited as a threat to public safety and the matter has drawn growing concerns from various security agencies.
