Am Ready to Bite The Bullet For Nurses’ Rights, Says Panyako

The Kenya National Union Of Nurses (KNUN) secretary general Seth Path has vowed to die fighting for the rights of the nurses who are currently on a sit down strike over arrears subjected to the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) of 2017.

This comes after majority of the nurses are still on strike in most of the counties while some like in Kisii returned to work on conditions that their pending issues will be sorted in the next 30 days, while Murangaa and Nakuru counties opted to replace the striking nurses to effect service delivery and activate last week’s presidential order of replacing the striking nurses with new ones.

With such new developments of Clinical officers signing a recognition agreement with the ministry of Health early this week, the Nurses’ strike has taken a new twist and gained momentum regardless of the intimidations from government.

Seth Panyako condemned his fellow workers in Muranga and Kisii who called of the strike calling them cowards who can’t stand for a common cause, he revealed that his life is in danger, he fears arrest, death and all the sort.
