DP William Ruto has come to the aid of a child suffering from a spinal cord defect

Ian Kipkoech, a Pre-Unit student at Olengisha Bright Star Academy in Bomet County has been sponsored for specialized treatment by Ruto.

The young boy caught the DP’s attention after he narrated a poem to entertain Ruto in a public forum.

DP Ruto is said to have spoken to Ian’s mother, Yvonne Chelegat who told the DP of her son’s plight living with a swollen head after he was diagnosed with Spina Bifida.

Ms Chelegat told the DP that although she had sought treatment for the 7-year-old to treat the birth defect, they could not afford treatment.

On Tuesday, DP Ruto sent his team to Ian’s aid as they airlifted both him and his mother for specialized treatment at the Aga Khan hospital.

Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso accompanied Ian and his mother and also thanked the DP for keeping his promise to help the young man.
