Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata ditches Ruto’s 2022 bid

Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata is now sailing in the same boat with former Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe.

The Murang’a senator has now declared that he owes alligence to President Uhuru Kenyatta,however, he has assured that he will not move around discrediting the DP, insisting that he respects the country’s second in command despite his latest decision.

In his statement he said, “He has been my friend … that’s why I don’t malign him and his presidential bid.”

In addition, “I choose to abide by the directive of the President and I will wait for his direction on where the Mt Kenya region will be in the 2022 game plan.”

Mr Kang’ata now joins Gatundu Member of Parliament Moses Kuria to detach themselves from Ruto’s campaign team.

With their future uncertain, Kang’ata says he will support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s agenda which includes pushing for Agenda four delivery.

Last year, Kang’ata, who still considers Uhuru as the Mt Kenya kingpin, hinted that he will push to have Uhuru in power regardless of the position the Head of State might take
