The Law Society of Kenya has issued a statement condemning the brutal murder of Robert Chesang, a prominent lawyer and an advocate of the High Court which took place on Sunday while he was at his home in Moke Gardens in Lukenya.

While issuing a statement, the LSK said that the tragic incident is a blunt reminder of the numerous colleagues that have lost their lives to the hands of unidentified assailants and are yet to receive justice.

As per the statement of LSK, they called upon the county security, as well as the Inspector General of Police to speed up investigations and discover the culprits behind this heinous acts and ensure that justice is served.

It is reported that the lawyer was home alone when the incident took place.

Additionally, seven cartridges were found at the scene of the murder including an AK-47 rifle.

According to one of the officials that were present at the scent, he deduced that this could have not been the works of thugs as they rarely have special ‘machinery’ of that calibre. It appears that it was a classic elimination scenario.

That being said, the body has now been moved to Shalom Hospital Mortuary in Athi River.
