Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Sunday found himself in a hard tussle with Kenyans on Twitter for imposing Deputy President William Ruto on Kenyans ahead of 2022 succession politics.
Kipchumba who was responding to Professor Makau Mutua’s remarks on Ruto said that DP Ruto was not only Rift Valleay’s candidate but Kenyas’ project.
Dr.William Ruto is not our candidate he is a project of Kenyans. Utazoea tu! https://t.co/rGNvAlTmxw

Prof Mutua had beseeched beseech the Kalenjin Nation to ‘wake up and smell the black coffee’, arguing that DP Ruto is currently politically finished. He had challenged Kalenjin community to bank on someone else ahead of 2022, arguing that “Putting your eggs in the Hustler’s basket is a looser”.
I beseech the Kalenjin Nation to wake up and smell the black coffee. DP @WilliamsRuto is now politically “finished.” Look elsewhere for 2022. Putting your eggs in the Hustler’s basket is a looser — a fool’s errand @kipmurkomen @HonAdenDuale @ahmednasirlaw @DonaldBKipkorir

Murkomen’s response on the post saw him roast alive in the internet fire, with Kenyans on twitter excluding themselves from Ruto being a project of Kenyans claims.
Many asked him to come out clearly and explain the meaning of “project of Kenyans”,urging him to always be carefully when using the word Kenyans in any statement.
Here are some of the heated reactions.
Be careful when using the name KENYANS my fwend juu saa ii venye ametuhustle is ngori kutuassociate na yeye gathee
