Uproar in Migori Over a Deadly Reptile

Migori residents decry crocodile attacks. According to locals who spoke to the media, some have survived attacks while others have survived bites from the crocodile in recent past while drawing water from the river.

The locals of Osiri in Nyatike sub-county, Migori County said that the river which was a major source of domestic is a no-go-zone and now they have been forced to look for alternative sources of water because of the threat from the crocodile.

The locals now want relevant authorizes – Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) to remove a crocodile from River Kuja to prevent future incidences, citing numerous attacks.

One of the locals added that the crocodile killed one of the locals a year ago and left others injured and nursing bite marks when they went to fetch water at River Kuja.
