Sany is back!! Demolitions around Nairobi County continued today with Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi becoming the latest to feel the wrath of sany, the demolisher.
Wamatangi’s car bazaar situated opposite the Nyayo National Stadiumwas today demolished.
Back in August 2018, activist Boniface Mwangi revealed that Wamatangi had grabbed an entire footpathand public space opposite Nyayo Stadium so as to expand his car bazaar business.
Hey @citizentvkenya, Senator Kimani Wamatangi has grabbed an entire footpath and public space opposite Nyayo Stadium. Ask him about that. @MikeSonko when are you demolishing @KWamatangi illegal containers? https://t.co/LbsX76i0WS

The Senators bazaar structure was a few metres from Aerodrome road and the railway line.
The demolition today resulted in a major traffic snarl-up on the busy Lang’ata Road heading into town.
Last year, the Nairobi county government said it will continue to demolish buildings on public and riparian land.
Julius Wanjau, who heads the county’s multi-agency team carrying out the demolitions, said marked buildings will be brought down.
Super Clean Car Wash on Aerodrome Road right opposite Nyayo National Stadium is coming down. It reportedly belongs to Kiambu Senator Wamatangi. SANY is there. There’s a heavy police presence and entire road is closed causing a huge traffic jam on the busy Langata Road. pic.twitter.com/udweA1DFP1
